Orbital Insurance Bonds
A financial instrument offered to satellite operators. Operators purchase surety bonds that are held in escrow. If at the end of the satellite's useful life, the operator has not adequately deorbited, or has created additional debris through operations, the bond is forfeited and used for debris removal projects. This creates a financial incentive for responsible behavior while space activities grow.
