Privacy-Preserving Data Aggregation (PPDA)
A hardware appliance and corresponding software that collects data from local IoT devices, aggregates it securely and anonymously (through techniques like differential privacy), and shares the anonymized results (only insights, no individual level data) with trusted third parties (like governments or corporations) as is legally mandated. This allows for efficient data collection without compromising individual privacy beyond the agreed-upon minimum, attempting to fulfill regulatory burdens while limiting harm.
