Engineered Estuary Ecosystems (EEEs)
Large-scale, government-managed projects to create artificial estuarine environments using technology to control water flow, salinity, and nutrient levels. EEEs are designed to function as highly productive nurseries for endangered or economically important fish species, all optimized with input from models. Strict access controls are enforced to maintain ecological integrity, though the heavy-handed approach may come at the expense of local communities.
