A localized, off-grid communication network that activates automatically upon detection of widespread data center failures or internet blackouts, OEN provides basic voice and text communication within physical proximity using a mesh network based on radio technology (e.g., prepper radios, Ham radios). The network can serve for coordination in emergency scenarios since the traditional network infrastructure is presumed to be non-functional. OEN will be powered by solar and battery backups.
