Cultural Impact Assessments (CIA) for Tech
Before any new technology can is integrated into a community, a Cultural Impact Assessment (CIA) is required that is independent of the governing bodies and tech companies. It's a service in which anthropologists and local community members work alongside AI tools that can scan data to see how technology will impact the local culture. This would assess the potential impact on local traditions, social structures, and cultural values. The assessment would be public and would have to be addressed before tech rollout. For example, if a new smart-city technology reduces foot traffic to local markets, that must be accounted for and solved before rollout.
