Disaster Resilience Bonds
Financial instruments that provide funding for preventative infrastructure and preparedness programs in disaster-prone regions. These bonds could be tied to the performance of smart contract-based aid delivery systems - the faster and more efficiently aid is delivered following a disaster (verified via satellite imagery and smart contract execution), the lower the interest rate paid to bondholders. This incentivizes proactive investment in resilience and preparedness, preventing displacement and refugee crises before they occur and making the ‘grow’ scenario more sustainable.
