A decentralized network of trained therapy animals (and human volunteers) ready to deploy in the event of robotic pet system failures or crises. Pre-registered households with suitable pets (dogs, cats, etc.) are activated via an alert system to provide temporary emotional support and companionship to residents whose robotic companions have failed.
